Prenatal Yoga course

Join me on this six week course, every Sunday at 4pm in the yurt at Fossil Bay.

Practicing Yoga throughout pregnancy can be a beautiful time of connection, slowing down and making space (mentally and physically) for baby’s arrival. Women can feel empowered, strong and confident through the relationship they form with their changing body. They can feel less anxious and fearful, rather more comfortable and at ease with all the changes that are happening inside and out. It encourages them to be present in the moment. Different techniques will be provided to ease your transition and allow you the time and space to connect with each experience throughout this journey.

This is a special time just for you, to prepare in a mindful way for your baby’s birth. It is a time where you can observe, be in the present moment and connect to your growing baby.

Week 1. JUST BREATHE

An introduction to Prenatal Yoga. Setting up a safe and supportive environment for like minded mama’s-to-be. We will start by learning about the powerful benefits of our breath, and just how important and crucial it is throughout your pregnancy, birth, your post-natal journey into motherhood, and anything else you might experience in between.

Week 2. CONNECTION

We will mindfully connect to the life growing inside you. We will also introduce the idea of oneness and a collective energy, building your community and support network, remembering you are not alone in this journey.

Week 3. CREATE SPACE AND LET GO

Loose inhibitions and preconceptions surrounding pregnancy and birth and create space for new life in your body, but also within your mind and your life.

Week 4. OPEN TO CHANGE

Ease some of the anxiety around the changes you might be experiencing, allow yourself to become more open and accepting of your current state and what’s to come.

Week 5. EMPOWERMENT

We will evoke an empowered mindset, moving away from fear and the over-thinking, over-analysing mind.

Week 6. INTO THE HEARTSPACE, OUT OF THE HEADSPACE

We will close with a fusion of what we have been integrating throughout the course, solidifying our practice of movement to breath, breath to movement. We will open the heartspace to its infinite potential, a limitless capacity for love.

This period of time will allow you to connect with the other mama’s on the mat and form friendships that will last beyond your practice together and into your journey of motherhood.

Pregnancy Yoga is best practiced once entering your second trimester. Please make sure you have doctors clearance, even though this is a very specific and gentle practice.
